The Trust advertised the availability of grants for its social inclusion objectives through the website in October 2009. A number of voluntary and charitable agencies made contact, and received details of the Trust’s funding priorities and criteria.

A range of full applications were received, some for funding in 2009-10, including some which requested continuing funds in 2010-11, and some which requested funding starting in 2010-11. A full assessment process was applied using the Trust’s Grant Policy, and the results were considered by the Trust Board in December 2009. A number of proposals were well received for their fit with the Board’s priorities and clear, practical outputs. The targeting on people and areas suffering deprivation was discussed in each case. 

The Board agreed that it was a cost effective approach from the grant round to take the opportunity to allocate their existing funds for the two financial years, and the Trust is now pleased to announce their awards.
