Now leader of the City of Edinburgh Council, Jenny was first elected as a Councillor in October 1997. She was a student at Aberdeen and Edinburgh Universities, spent 14 years as a Librarian in Tanzania and Malawi and over 20 years as a welfare rights officer in the Lothians.

Jenny takes a special interest in human rights, social justice, electoral reform and fair international development.
